Recently, I was at a baby shower for a dear friend of mine. There were quite a few first time moms-to-be at the shower. We were discussing must-have items that are necessary for any mom to have. When asked what I would recommend they need to survive, I chuckled. The thing I have found that is most necessary for my parenting success is not found at Wal-mart, Target or Babies-R-Us. It is not on the shelf of a local boutique or available on etsy. The one thing that I have found I can't parent without, is a sense of humor. You see, as a working mom of two kids, ages two and 9 months, I have found that without my sense of humor, I would go insane.
Now, let's talk about this sense of humor. It is not always the easiest of things to hold onto in every situation, but it is important for both parents to try their best to keep a smile and a positive attitude. And remember, if all else fails, there is a glass of wine or a bourbon and ginger waiting for you and your nerves.
My goal for this blog is to document the times when I find my sense of humor being utilized to make it through the day. If anyone else can find a laugh or a smile while reading my mommy escapades, then I say, "The more the merrier."
